• Gain a thorough understanding of fluid properties and their relevance to process engineering.
• Explore fluid statics, including static pressure, buoyancy, and stability of floating objects.
• Understand internal flows, including velocity profiles, continuity equations, and momentum of fluid flows.
• Familiarize with flow measurements (orifice meters, venturi meters, flow nozzles, rotameters, turbine meters).
• Learn about preventing water hammer and calculating pressure drops in piping systems.
• Explore external flows, including drag, lift, and terminal velocity.
• Understand compressible flows, including sonic velocity, Mach number, isentropic flow through nozzles, and critical flow conditions.
• Gain practical knowledge in tank venting design, P-V valve sizing, and mass flow rate calculations through nozzles.
